Our event today went really well! A few of us hooked up in Balboa Park for a little singing next to the fountain. We are so blessed to live in such a beautiful place! The only issue was that there was a sax player about 200 feet away, so it was dueling instruments at times. A couple of times he was even in the same key!
Afterward, we headed to downtown San Diego, in the southeast part of the East Village to feed the homeless. We had plenty of food. We were all laughing because it was almost a “loaves & fishes” kind of thing. We kept handing out food and it seemed like we were never getting rid of it!
We met some great people. People that are not all that different than any of us. It was awesome to sit and share our stories and lives with each other. It is amazing to me how many seem to have a real relationship with God.
At our last stop at 16th and National Ave. we met a great group of people. One woman, Brenda, shared her story about trying to find her son. Fortunately a local church is looking to make that happen. It was really cool to pray with her and absorb the very real presence of God in that place.
It was an honor to see our kids serving with a passionate love for God and for these people. They so easily and naturally gave hugs to people that many would never even get close to. I am so blessed to be able to see God’s hand extend through our kids.
This was a great day to worship God!!

Eight years ago I was asked by my pastor, John Rose if Candace and I would consider helping start a new church in Chula Vista. With our first child being only 10 mos., and no prospects of income we made the plunge into the unknown. We weren’t exactly sure of the details, but we knew Rancho Vista was where God was calling us to be.
Some of you know that church planting can be exhilarating, debilitating, satisfying, frustrating, joyful and a lot of hard work. But one thing I can say in spite of it all is I have enjoyed being part of a ministry that has been used by God to change lives. This is why it is so difficult for me to write the next sentence. Effective December 13 I will be stepping down as worship leader at Rancho Vista Church.
So you are probably asking why? Rather than writing all of the reasons why we are leaving, here is a video I sent to our worship team explaining myself.

I am looking for an artist (painter, sculptor, whatever) that would be interested in joining me in some public worship opportunities (in the San Diego area) in the next few months. Specifically I am looking for someone who can create “in the moment” and has a passion to worship God. Let me know if this is you.
